What you can expect from us
At Cannongate Counselling we provide an impartial, confidential and non-judgemental
setting where you are supported towards exploring what you feel, what you want
and how you might get it. The relationship may be short or long term depending
on your needs and circumstances.
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE FIRST SESSION?
At the first meeting we will assess your needs, and together agree how best
you may be helped. Each session thereafter will last for an hour.
WHERE WILL YOU BE SEEN?
Cannongate Counselling operates in the centre of Hythe at Osborne House, Portland
Road, which is off Stade Street. There is frequent mainline transport within
minutes of the practice. There is also a free car park nearby.
HOW DO YOU MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
You may telephone us on 01303 267353 between 8.30am and 8pm, Monday to Friday
and on Saturdays and Sundays between 10.00 and 12.00. If we are unavailable
then please leave a message and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The first consultation is an assessment and as such will cost £40. Since
we see a range of clints with different circumstances our costs vary. However,
in general we charge between £25 and £50.
We will discuss this with you during our initial contact with you.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
Counselling takes place within the framework of a confidential setting. To
maintain the highest standards, all counsellors & therapists are bound
to have regular supervision. This means that we discuss our work with a supervisor,
who also follows the rules of confidentiality laid down by the British
Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Members of the British
Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy means that we are bound by
its Codes
of Ethics and Practice and subject to its Complaints
Procedure.
